The Black cat

You give off heat...
That is the whiskers(tm) that you are burning
in your teeny weeny cat cells
You have four legs
I have two
You walk up to me
With a more important
Red nucleus
I bury my nose into your fur
And inhale
you smell not much
you smell clean and cat-like
you like to be picked up
You jump up on my lap
when I put my legs up
so that my knees hurt
You are always loving of me
Your demands for food
And cat-calls for affection or play
Are a small price to pay for your company
Why can't you live longer than me
You james dean of a cat?
Your running speed is faster than me
your motor neurons conducting at faster rates
but why then does your flame extinguish before mine
When the tortoise can live for so long?
Would I love you if you were double the size?
triple quadruple?
Ten times your size?
Where would you live?
How would I feed you?
People would want to take you away for zoos...
But your size is good.
Size matters
Temperament matters
And you are pretty
Not like some other animals I could mention..
You whole body begs to be touched and hugged
You are a companion
A pet
My cat
