Yesterday Again

Yesterday So Close
Walking in a photograph forty years ago
Past is present and now so far removed,
Fantasy blurs with half-forgotten truth.
Frozen for all time, my Dorien girl still shines.
She will guard me, guide me, love me eternal.
Reality means fading looks, sagging breasts
Greying locks adorned by Father Time.
Weighed down with banality staring sad
She connects once more with that youthful soul.
Maybe she dreams of me, maybe not.
My photographic mind is all I’ve got .
To Anne, wherever you are.

Frozen for all time, my
Frozen for all time, my Dorien girl still shines... this is lovely.
You've gone for non rhyming form until the last two lines, but it works. I think most of us have got that 'where are they now?, person lurking in the background somewhere. I'm sure she does think of you fondly...if she remembers you, of course. enjoyed this, Nice one.

I very much like the opening line as it is slightly ambiguous in that it could be a photo of the two of you out walking. It could also be your way of describing the memories stirred up by the photo. Rightly or wrongly, I like the second version..
I too found the rhyming couplet at the end very effective.
