A Dim and Distant Star

Many light-years
separate me
from a distant star
high up in the sky.
One that's invisible
to the naked eye.
She is higher
than Gilderoy's kite.
All that I can see
is a tiny speck.
She winks and I reckon
she beckons to me.
Come here, she whispers,
and discover how
effulgent I can be.
This subliminal message
which hints at a higher
plane of existence
is highly seductive
and hard to ignore
but I fear being trapped
inside a black hole
and resist the temptation.

You conjure up the magic of those twinkling lights in space, that leave us earthlings wondering what's out there.

I don't think you can really be trapped in a black hole, crushed rather, and totally annihilated into oblivian and singularity. That is if there is something like a black hole. Keep well Luigi!

I am much obliged to you for the information you are providing, Tom. I am sure you are right.
Not being scientifically minded, I obviously misunderstood what Stephen Hawking said here:
www.hawking.org.uk/into-a-black-hole.html 
"It is said that fact is sometimes stranger than fiction, and nowhere is this more true than in the case of black holes. Black holes are stranger than anything dreamt up by science fiction writers, but they are firmly matters of science ~fact."
