I’ve forgotten
The pain
I’d get in my head
I’ve forgotten
The times
I wished myself dead
I’ve forgotten
My mother
Feeding me my dinner
I’ve forgotten
Me never
Feeling like a winner
I’ve forgotten
The scars,
How they got there
I’ve forgotten
My life
How I’m still here
I remember
Waking up
In a hospital bed
I remember
My parents
Standing over my head
I remember
Hoping that
I’m going to survive
I remember
My promise
To keep myself alive

I like the idea of this. I like the repetition and I like the stark lines. :)

I like the rhythm this has, and the kind of inspirational note that it finishes on, which is built up towards over the course of the poem.
