The muse will not come here
Brute decay and ignorance
With their accompanying stench
Have barred the entrance
2
They’re peddling dope
On primetime television
Between the adult soft-play segments
No need to find the Man
When every home’s a fibre-optic
Information superhighway smack den
All major credit cards accepted
Every football shirt and stadium
Knocking out the gear
Hit the mainline
Ease the pain
24/7/365
Connected to the vein
3
Wealth-creator slavers
Fat and suntanned
On our labours
Sipping gins in many flavours
Keep us fighting with our neighbours
Who’d have thought
We could have lost so much
In so little time
And who’d have thought
So few of us
Would care
4
I feel the anger
Stalking through the supermarket carpark
Don’t tell me it’s the weather
5
I knew a good thing once
It was good because I knew it was
In the end, Heaven is in your heart
And in your mind
A grateful collision of cognition and emotion
A blue bus beneath blue sky
Conversations in strange tongues
And laughter
And a certain way of saying Hi!
You only know it when you find it
And when you give it up
It’s gone

To use a well hackneyed American expression
I know exactly where you're coming from and I'm pretty sure I know where you want to be.
I also care and I feel the same way about how modern society is heading for a dead end.:
A cul-de-sac of ignorance and mediocrity.
A moron in the White house, puppet in Wesminster, squabbling children and would be dictators in Europe.
Shit even the BBC sell 85% crap these days (and they don't even make that franchised garbage).
Sometimes I think Orwellism is round the next corner ..... except now its digital.
I also know where I want to be ....... The buses on Gran Canaria are sky blue too.
Sorry for the rant ...... sore point
Cheers
Ed
