the end from the beginning

Belly scraped on rock
ball-bearings, ice-voiced,
snow-cloaked, Age-huge slug!
Sssslow, clenched weight, over
whelming; water awe-
full, frozen, valley-
cleaving, carving hills,
till epochs’ clockworks
turn, tip climate warm
so glaciers melt,
rejoin sea’s heart beat,
leaving here stone still,
when Men came, digging
up understanding
of ownership, these
schist whorls’ fingerprint
of walls innocent land
branded, Wildness stopped.
Skeoch’s back-bone and
field mouse house, long
Time-unbunched, lichen
etched and fern fronded,
this border’s become
moss humbled now, half
sunk, through sumptuous,
sucking clay’s welcome,
enfielding far
brown-flower-blurred, soft
rushes, match-straight, which
seem to strike the ground,
set sparks, grass, quenched in
two horses’ velvet mouths,
one dun, one chestnut,
thick furred, bare hoofed, calm.
At the Wood’s edge, blue
sentinel beeches,
given wind speech, warn
of Autumn's coming.
Yellow birch leaves fall,
spent Summer's tokens,
round a pigeon’s flight
toppling stacked silence,
above pale, green grains’
stirring firmament -
wood-millet - wire thin
stalks, rising chest high
from emerald arc
alcoves, library
still, save fluttering
white wave moths, tiny
gentle fingertips
exploring betweens;
a frog (this Spring's?) leaps
----- plops, back in rain-sleek,
green lake-glade, beneath
"Kew, Kew" of buzzard
calling, Wintry chill,
cruel and beautiful
as knowing "all things
must pass” fuels Life

Some fine details in this poem Di. It reminded me of how fragile nature is.

Hello Di,
Hello Di,
I'm taking my poetry in a new direction, paying more attention to words that have meaning to me putting them together and having fun doing it. Some poetry does not need an explanation and can be interpreted by the reader as they wish to read it. It may not be popular, but I've found this new direction inspiring for me, rather than trying to rack my brains thinking of subject matter.
I say as long as you're happy with the poem, that's all that matters. Your creativity shines through in your poetry, because I know how long it can take to create poems. It can take days and sometimes weeks just to put lines together, which although are not always given credit, but that doesn't mean they're not good.
By the way I'm fine and hope you are too. I've not managed to get out much lately, but it hasn't bothered me, my partner and I are quite happy rattling around the house in our old age.
Hope things are fine with you and yours.
Take care.
Jenny.

Absolutely agree, Jenny.
Absolutely agree, Jenny.
There are times when writing what comes, what feels like the right thing to write, hacking through the vegetation is the way to maybe discover something different, or find the your reader spots it first.
Keep writing the things you want to. X

I'm glad I stumbled on this
I'm glad I stumbled on this chat.
I like what you've posted, both poem and comment. The tumbling sensation of the words and the alliteration and accidental (maybe?) internal rhymes feel like you're working your way towards something. Are you familiar with automatic painting, for example, in the plastic arts? A Surrealist idea. Letting the unconscious guide you. I'm torn at the moment, often in fact, between crafting (or trying to) and trying to get something authentic onto the page. 99 times out of 100 it's a disaster, but maybe, maybe. My current situation is almost physically screaming at me to follow that path.

You are so very kind Di, to be appreciated like that has made my day. I agree with what you said about Well Wisher and Rhiannon. There's such a spirituality about their work. I don't think I've got any particular skill for writing, I just like to be free to create and it's fun when you see it up on abc tales looking so neat.
Again thank you so much for your message.
Give Tina a smooth and hug from me, she's such a cool cat.
Jenny.
