Carry On
By Paul McCann
When its hard to write or hard to play
when there always something in the way .
Songs can be a million miles away ,
when there’s something that you want to say
but you haven’t got the time today
sometimes you’ve got to push it away
When no one cares about what you do
Even though it means the world to you
Its no wonder songwriters get blue
Write your song and let the music play
hold you head up and just sing away
Even if no one hears it today
Carry on , write that song anyway .
Sing it out ,let it be heard today
For the world needs to hear what you say
In sad times and bad times life’s a song ,
for broken hearts that need to be strong
And for loving hearts that sing along .
Sing for the times that we’re going through .
for everything that‘s happening to you
Songs are feathers on a wing ,
The flight of love that’s tied on a string,
to capture a heart that wants to sing
don’t be discouraged try to be strong ,
if no one there believes in your song
do what you do best and carry on
There is someone who believes in you
In what you say and the things you do
Your song is like the dream that came true ,
dreams that came true are easy to find
They are just like you one of a kind ,
Part of the soul and part of the mind
When inspiration won’t come to you
And there’s no feeling in what you do .
It takes time for some songs to come through,
the words of love are the breath we breathe
The songs we hear are what we believe ,
they are the dreams of the soul we weave
Live for the day that your songs are heard
and they appreciate what you’ve shared
In the harmony and every word ,
You are the song that’s forever young
You are the words that roll of the tongue
that will be heard by everyone ,

It's hard when you have words
It's hard when you have words and ideas in your head and want to get them down, but don't have the time due to commitments. Writing music, stories, poems is a valuable legacy of a gift to the world. You have written a perfect example of this in your poem.
Very much enjoyed reading.
Jenny.
