Friendship

Friendhip develops
in many, varied, ways.
It can start in schooldays
when someone sends
a message asking you
to be their pen-friends.
You might never meet,
of course, but you maintain
your discourse, via pen and paper.
The relationship may be long
or start to gradually taper
and finally end.
But memories of the friendiness
you made, will never fade.
I don't recall how many fellow authors
I have encountered in person
but am familiar with the virtual mates
I've met on this creative website.
A few friendly names come to mind.
Deborah, Coral, Julia and Christine;
always amiable and very kind.
Some are sadly no longer with us
but will be missed by all their readers
on ABCtales, our literary magazine.

You are right, Luigi! I hadn't imagined when first getting a computer decades ago, how very important this would be, to make friends which I find hard in actual life. Your poem is a lovely tribute to those whose kindness and talent flowed and flows through the internet from the portal of ABCTales sharing brilliant writing and creating happy memories. Thank you for your wise poem, and I hope you are well
