We are Trinity

We are all trinity –

the first,
the one who hides inside,
barefoot, unguarded,
waking before the sun
under the weight of  silence.

And the second,
the one polished
like silver,
the perfect face,
angled to the light,
to perfectly present
the painted smile.

And the third,
a ragged tapestry,
stitched from fragments
gifted by others – 
a word overheard,
a careless gesture,
a rumour carried forward.

None whole, none false.
A triple helix -
of the real,
the desired,
the imagined.

We are all trinity,
we are all human.
