He liked his old fleece, but she hated 
that mud colour gloomy – it grated,
and made him look sallow and sad
– when gifted another one, glad
for the new fleece though black seemed so bright!
and tthe brown worn to garden, when spattered
with weeds was a patterned, and much improved sight!

(and his latest is dark blue, with gold
little trimmings – quite bold!)

A snuggly soft fleece is so comforting when you're chilly, despite being made from petrol. And they come out of the washing machine almost dry.

A comfy, well-worn fabric friend that sooths when days, and weather, are harsh. It makes no difference if it's tattered or moth eaten, it is threaded through with memories and perfumed with familiarity, and that makes it timeless.smiley
