The Day The Earth Shook

After the war, a fragile peace came over the land . People began to reach out a hand of friendship and trust was beginning to find its way into the hearts of all those who had been enemies . Unfortunately, there were those who did not want peace because too much money was being made from continuing the conflict .

People often gathered around the city to speak their mind and put an end once and for all to the fears from the past and add words of hope for a future where everybody had the right to live in peace ,

One of those speakers who continued to speak around the city was Joe Mc Staggers 

A man with a mission to bring compensation to those who had suffered during the war and forgiveness for those who were guilty of crimes they had committed during the war . Most people said he was madman with no idea of what he was talking about however every time to spoke people always stopped to listen to him .

He talked about a future when every country and every tribe would learn how to get along and live together , regardless of the colour of their skin or what belief they had, A small crowd of men gathered and began to throw abuse at Joe with an intent to cause him harm . As they made their way to where he was standing the ground suddenly started to shake .

Cracks opened up on the ground people started to run in different directions with absolutely no idea of where they were running to ,

Joe began to shout aloud.

“ You can’t run or escape when you’re in an earth quake , be still and listen in the  tremors and you will hear God speaking . Hear the voice of Almighty God telling us to be awake because a change is coming to the world .”

In all the commotion Joe stood there and continued to shout over the sound of men and women screaming and the little babies who were crying.

His voice was heard by all who were present .

Those who had intended to harm Joe were swallowed up in holes that appeared in the ground .

“ Listen to the sound of God’s voice . Awake , now for change is coming “

In the panic there were those looting and robbing shops and others pushing people to the ground in their panic to escape . There were explosions from gas lines as sparks flew from electricity wires short circuiting .

“Joe continued to call out

“Do not fear and be still for he will come to bring change into the world .”

Meanwhile around the coastal areas hundred feet tidal waves came and roacks were being shaken from the mountain tops that fell to the ground .

Joe remained there calling out

“As long as you have God with you no harm will come to you ..

Now people were stopping to listen to him . There was no where left to run to and so they all sat down to hear what he had to say .

“Friends today is the start for us all to move ahead and rebuilt , what once was had gone all we have is rubble of the past and that can never . It’s time to wake and to what’s happening , we have a chance to find a new way to live together . We are all.

unique in our own way and we must start to see the light of a brand new tomorrow where we are one in our uniqueness  in everything we do . We are many people and never alone because it’s time to walk in peace with each other ‘

There was a gentle applause that soon erupted like thunder all over the place where they stood . Even the earth shook again as if in agreement with what had been said ,

Then suddenly the ground stopped shaking and, in the silence, someone started singing and everyone joined in , making one sound together as one .

Peace did come and those who where there in that day and heard Joe speak spread that story to everyone they knew .

No one ever knew where Joie went to , some said he took to the mountains others said he went to sea on a ship .

There were those who said Joe was a messenger from God but no one ever saw him again . Over the next few years there were reports of a man speaking in other cities and countries just before an earthquake had torn the place apart .

People were now more awake now than ever before . There was a change in how people thought and acted . There was a beauty about the rubble and a power in rebuilding the cities again .,

‘The past had been shaken off and a new future had begun . Flowers were growing  from the cracks that had been opened up in the ground and some of those cracks spread for miles from the city to the countryside .

All over the world the earth was shaking and people were waking up to a new world where old ways of thinking had been left behind for the new world that was being built . People everywhere were sharing the dream and living in a peaceful way .

Life was good and there was happiness and harmony and equality for all .

There were no  more homeless , no more hunger . people helped each other and

Suddenly Joe McSrtaggers returned to speak his mind around different cities with the message for all the world to hear .

God is happy with the world and all the people who live in it . Now there is no more  only peace , now there is one belief , we are at the dawn of a new creation stay awake and be ready for the rich blessings that are to soon come . “

The End
