POSTCARD FROM PARIS

She was ready for a new beginning, ready to leave the apartment and London and England. Today was the turning point. She had cleaned every room, cleared cupboards and book shelves, removed posters from walls. Only memories remained. Her final task was to vacuum every inch of the place that had been her miserable home for the last year. And what did she find in the hallway, somehow lodged behind a radiator? A postcard from Paris - a sepia print of Notre Dame Cathedral. She read the message: on honeymoon, weather fine, missing you. xxx

Reminds me of the lost bygone pieces I've found when clearing out to move house. Old post cards and photos always have me desiring to know the story behind the picture.
