Ruminating On Rothko

(After listening to my poetry class trying to deconstruct Rothko)

My heart enshrined in Rothko
My mood refined by Rothko
My soul entombed, defined by Rothko

Rothko does not stand assessment
His heat does not bear cold scrutiny
Yo discuss Rothko is to strip his layers bare
And wipe away the agony of being.

Rothko does not mean
Rothko just is.
Taste the blood and heat
And leave part of yourself with him when you go
