Wobbly Tooth

He's lost his first two baby teeth in care. But he wouldn't put them under his pillow there, he wants OUR tooth fairy to come, to his own bed. Now the third one, on the bottom, to the right as you look at him, is hanging on.
I know how it feels.
I remember how, sometimes, while wobbling, I'd get my tongue stuck underneath the sharp edge, and panic, have to push the tooth out a bit more than I wanted, to get my tongue free, taste the thread of blood from a tooth not ready to let go.
I'm not ready to let go. I can't bear to think I might not see that hard won gap, hear how he adjusts his whistle, watch new tooth peak emerge from pink gum.
This is a wobbling time. They might let him back in August. They might take him away for good. A tooth has no say where the tooth fairy goes
