Sky Burial

He gatecrashed the wake,
lured by the carrion stench
of your lonely carcass; vulnerable.
Him circling.
You splayed out on the rocks.
Fresh meat; scored with the cuts
of unhealed hurts.
Him looming.
Black eyes searching you;
a cold vessel, long gone.
Necrotic tissue on the turn.
Then he was tearing into you;
bloodied up to the ruffed shoulders.
Wearing you; eating your heart out
from the inside.

I'm not up to date on my meat
I'm not up to date on my meat fixes, but these seems metaphorical for some kinds of hurts. Great opening line.

Wowsers!
Let rip why don't you. Excellent here from you canonette. Had missed this one after seeing the title and being intrigued by it. Well done.

Nobody likes to see birds
Nobody likes to see birds peck over torn meat. This is one that raw emotion concentrates, dont sound apologetic for its guts. Deep and soulful, still written with restraint though.
