Taking it to the Extreme (Poetry Monthly)

It begins – it must begin in spite
of our diversity. Because of our
diversity we are without shadow,
without conflict or contradiction.
We must be clear, this is the gateway.
Put another way – the World – the
ultimate destination. It can seem
energising to confront the truth.
Confront it head on. Take component
parts to pieces – rule regardless. We
are the rule. Together we will win.
Why shouldn’t we? I have said it myself
many, many times. It’s absolutely right
and I’ll say it again. Be hard, even harder,
you are the culture. There is a place for you.
It’s not about representation – it’s about
influence. We need to go further. It comes
down to this: Shape the future. We have
refused to compromise and we shall
do so again and now we’ll go further.
We will defeat every generation to come.

I love this Ed. For all sorts
I love this Ed. For all sorts of reasons. The language is concise, tempered, yet extreme. A complete contradiction in every way. Best thing I've read in ages.
