Absolutely Zero Cool
I have never mastered the art of staying cool. I would be a nailed-on certainty for a Nobel Prize if getting hot under the collar was a category. I posses a natural ability to panic long before any situation or problem even takes form. I am a Black Belt at pessimism and can create an infinite number of scenarios where I will fail or even worse not begin.
I probably should patent my skill set in negativity because as far as I can see it’s the only thing I’m really good at. I should have learned by now, but the trait is so in-grained it must be part of my DNA. Over the many years I have drawn breath on this mortal coil I could point with some justification to the proof of my pessimistic approach.
I possess the natural talent to hide or run. Living life sideways has always been my ‘go to’ stance. The in-built mechanism of avoiding the unknown or the future has been present since birth. Nay, probably at the zygote stage. However, consider this…from absolute zero to the warmth of optimism may seem an impossible journey, but maybe one day I will achieve the ultimate paradox of being super cool and embrace the warmth of optimism.
From absolute zero to furnace hot? One day…maybe

The answer, my friend...
But what about Bob Dylan? You couldn't have found a cooler bloke in the day but the words of many of his songs oozed pessimism. So you might find life easier if you just tried to be like him.

natural instincts
My own instincts seems to me rather to "fight" not always a good thing specially for others, I don't know, I think I should rather strive for serenity. As for you yourself optimism sounds more pleasant, depending then on what you like. Sorry, sounds a bit mixed-up.
A pessimist is a man who sees the sun set in the east!
As for Bob Dylan I don't think he ever was a pessimist. Leonard Cohen was but I don't like him. Dylan rather he is a very acute observer with excellent understanding and insight in human nature more like Shakespeare perhaps? But, he is Cooll Yes!
