I am a little snowdrop,
I have a little nook,
Within a garden corner,
That's watered by a brook.
Like the little snowflakes,
That sometimes fill the sky,
My heart is full of crystals,
And far too soon must die.
Cherished by the robin,
That often passes by,
I nod to him my greeting,
Then watch him in the sky.
I have another neighbour,
The treasured Christmas rose,
And in our garden corner,
We are special friends, not foes.
Twinkling in the sunlight,
My face is pearl'd with dew,
And in the spangled rainbows,
The tears flow for you.
Like you I have the snowfall,
Then seasons without bloom,
But as the sweetest flower,
I cushion winter gloom.
