From the Telegraph 03/01/2022 - Top French university offers Masters course in 'drinking, eating and living.

I rejoice with the French
who exclaim c'est si bon
and I will enroll right away
to study at the  Sorbonne.

They are starting a course
on the art of good living,
learning how to be merry,
how to eat and to drink
without any misgiving.

I'll embrace life with joy,
won't entertain misery.
I'll relish the companionship
that's called camaraderie.

The syllabus is quite easy,
there is no need to cram;
I won't have any problem
in passing the exam.

Sounds wonderful, what's the catch? We should all be doing more of this and maybe we should be teaching our children how to enjoy life in simple ways rather than confusing them with so much information. Lovely little poem Luigi, just what we need on a grey January afternoon.

I think you have hit the nail on the head, Jane. Living a simple life seems to be the answer. 
An item in today's news was about a Sicilian village where a number of tits inhabitants were 100 years old and lived a contented life. Aked what the secret of their longevity was, an old man replied: "People say 'hi' and talk to each other" and a centenarian woman said that being surrounded and loved by her grandchildren was enough to make her happy. Perhaps we should take a leaf out of these wise old folks' book.

I live with my French partner. She lives with her mostly Irish me. It's a strange life. I think we both deserve to be certified in some way.
