Old Men ( In Darkened Rooms)

We are old men in darkened rooms
Of the mind
The shutters down
The light shut out
The life shut out
Silent as a tomb
An empty barren womb
Lonely old men in darkened rooms
We inhabit songs and poems
That we write
We think of women
Past, present and imagined in our lives
We pace floors
Stare out of windows
Watch the night
Looking out
Looking inwards
To the darkened room of the mind
We know what it’s like to wake up in a dark room
Cracked roof
Damp walls
Nobody else in there at all
The involuntary solitude
The enforced loneliness.
The onlyness
The peace.
( Inspired by the poems of Charles Bukowski and various Beat Poets)

This is quite sad mark and
This is quite sad mark and also very quiet and still, it makes me think of endless days and nights travelling on a train of loneliness which you can't get off. I hope the train stops and the shutters come up, pull the emergency chain.
