The Giants Causeway
By Paul Mc Cann
.
In ancient times when giants had roamed around the land they say
life on earth was much different that the one we know today .
there’s a story I’ve been told about two giants in this place ,
Benandonner said he wanted to punch Fin McCool in the face
So the giants built these stepping stones to reach each others home
Tearing down mountains carving interlocking shapes out of stone
The pathway was a jigsaw and on the causeway was a throne
and the winner of the fight would be the high King on his own
Finn Mc Cool threw clods of mud across the sea to Scotland there
Benandonner was getting angry but Finn Mc Cool didn’t care .
Until he saw the size of the Giant there he was to fight ,
Then he quickly changed his plans and hid himself far out of sight .
Finn ran through the meadows dressed up like a baby in disguise
when Benandonner caught up with him he couldn’t believe his eyes
and he thought if this is his baby then how big must Finn be .
He retreated back home to Scotland never more to cross the sea.

I love to read tales of
I love to read tales of giants. I also truly believe that once upon a time they really did exsist, and that's how many of the standing stones came about.
Enjoyed reading your little tale within this poem.
Jenny.
