It Takes So Long

Yesterday is dead and gone

and it takes so long

to wake up to the fact that

there is no more pain or sorrow

and when tomorrow comes

and you see the dawn the dark night is gone

and so you carry on

then suddenly you find its still a long way to go ,

but good things come to those who wait ,

and its not easy to hesitate

when you realise that fate has a hand in it

loving her is not a fast hello ,

or a last farewell as you go

cause it takes so long to truly fall in love .

its just mabuti with her everyday

and the beauty of all the things we say

is hard to translate

cause it takes so long to do

and even if we could

how could we relate the things we feel

that cannot wait for in a second or two

that would be too late

How long is forever ,

it’s a long way to go ,

but in the here and now that both of us know

that’s where we are and where we’re going

is somewhere so far Into the future

where we will be

but it takes so long

an eternity
