Kookaburra Fun

Out of sight from people . hidden away in the branches of a Eucalypt tree sat three  Kookaburras .Two of them were laughing and making fun of the one they called dreamy . How ignorant they were to assume they were s higher class bird than he . Dreamy just looked away at the other two .

“There are no starts out yet mate . You’ll have to wait “

“Hey dreamy , are you watching for spaceships to come and bring you home “

They both let out a cackle of laughter .

“Why don’t you two take off and enjoy yourselves somewhere else “

Dreamy replied ,

‘We like it where we are , here with you at the “

 

“Haven’t you anything better to do ?

Dreamy replied .

The three kookaburras all sat there together in the heat of the day .

“If only we had a satellite dish , I’d cook us a fish for dinner “.

One of the two said with a laugh .

Dreamy looked at the two kookaburras and said .

“ Hey, you two kookaburras now that’s a great idea .”

“What do you mean ?

One of them asked  ,

“ What I mean is , kookaburras fish ...”

The two of them laughed as they always did and one of them said ,

“Friendly kookaburras like us just like sitting in the sun             ‘

Dreamy perched a little closer and said ,

“ There are fish near here about a mile or two as the crow flies .

Both of them begam laughing over and over . They were having so much fun .

At dreamy’s expense  .

One of the two said ,

“ Dreamy you’ve been left out for too long in the sun “.

The other one continued .

“Oh no , what can we do ?”

Dreamy replied ,

“Well, I’ve heard there’s a fish in the pond over the hill that has the sweetest taste and he thinks he’ll never be caught , He taunts kookaburras and makes fun of the way we laugh “

The two kookaburras were now in a rage and one of them asked  .

“Where is the pond you’re talking about ?

Dreamy replied ,

‘Follow you beak to the setting sun and you can’t miss it .Go now kookaburras two. 

and catch that fish who makes fun of us . While your away, I’ll stoke up a dire and to smoke that fish and we’ll have a feast for our gullets . Go now and try some fishing you kookaburras two .”

The two kookaburras flew away and as they did dreamy laughed aloud and said .

“I wonder how long it will take them to realise there is no pond in that place but he wanted a little peace and quiet for a while . .

So later on, that night the two kookaburras returned exhausted with no fish . Dreamy pretended he never saw them as he sat there looking up at the stars in the night sky .

“You sent us on a wild goose chase Dreamt. There was no pond “

Dreamy tried not to laugh and said ,

“ Now take a look for yourselves and tell me what you see “

The two kookaburras looked up and saw a spaceship in the sky The spaceship landed nearby and a small group of aliens emerged from the space craft and stood in a circle . After taking some soil samples and cuttings from leaves and shrubs one of them approached the trees where the three kookaburras were . The alien looked up and said .
"Hello again Dreamy , we told you we would be back . Here are some snacks we brought for you and your friends , I hope you enjoy them . We will return again to see you . Goodbye for now "
So as the alien returned to the group by the spacecraft . At that moment all of the aliens pointed over and waved to the three kookaburras who all laughed . As their spaceship returned to the sky all of the kookaburras started eating the snacks that tasted out of this world . They were the most beautiful thing the kookaburras had ever eaten and although they wanted more they felt completely satisfied with what they had .
Then Dreamy looked at the two kookaburras and said ,

“Well I guess you two guys were right; I dis and will continue to look up at the stars and yes even look for spaceships there . As you can see for yourselves now the reason why I do that ."
When I first saw them they came over and spoke to me and even told me to keep watch as they would return again and as you see for yourselves, they did “
One of the kookaburras replied

“Sorry Dreamy we never really understood why you were always gazing up at the sky . Please forgive us mate ?
The other one continued ,

“Yeah Dreamy , those guys are really nice . I hope they do come back again soon to visit us again and give us a few more of those treats “

From that day on the three kookaburras got along much netter , there was no more teasing or appeasing the everyday lifestyles of those who perched up on the branches of the trees where the kookaburras lived .  .

Around the big land down under,  there’s a lot to see and wonder ,as the kookaburras giggle and the frill neck lizards wriggle around debris in the desert and artefacts buried in dirt you’d  think , how did that stuff get there .did it just appear from nowhere or fall down from out of the sky ?

The kookaburra’s they know why that’s why they’re laughing all the time , as they sit there in the sunshine , but as kookaburras can’t speak , no one hears the words from their beak. Their ways of communicating are  in the watching and waiting, out  there in the great big  outback for the aliens to come back

There is a moral to the story which is never mock what you haven’t seen or make judgements on others unless you have walked in their shoes or experienced the things they have been through. .
