Living On A Shoestring
By Paul McCann
Red taxi fare to border town , miles they pile up fast .
The taxi man’s doing a ton chewing up the gas .
Music blasting on the stereo, brings back days gone past.
Just ten miles from the border, on the highway moving fast .
Top this it’s a free thing living on a shoestring
Blessings they all come down, like the kiss of life
That’s what living on a shoestrings all about .
Living on a shoestring , I’m giving everything
Fair play Mister Taxi man look there goes my six string
I crossed the road at twilight , tossed my head up high
The cost of living on these dreams is on the borderline ,
A shoestring
Top this it’s a free thing living on a shoestring
Blessings they all come down, like the kiss of life.
That’s what living on a shoestrings all about .
Its about faith , its about love ,
its about believing there is more than you got .
Checking time running here and there, this way and that.
No ties when you’re living on a shoe string, I’ll tell you what.
Somebody’s gunning for me somewhere , looking out for me,
I made it to the border , hell what do you think of that
Top this it’s a free thing living on a shoestring
Blessings they all come down, like the kiss of life.
That’s what living on a shoestrings all about .
Its about faith , its about love ,
its about believing that there’s more than you got .
