Mother of grief,

you watched helplessly as your own child

was mocked and abused and then nailed to the cross .

Mother of grief , you know the pain of losing a child too soon ,

help all who are going through that loss .

Mother of grief , wipe away the sorrowful tears of a parent

who has lost a child through self harm .

Mother of grief weep with all those who mourn

and may your empathy be there with an outreaching arm .

Mother of grief , help those who are left to begin again and bring an end to the sadness they’re in .

Mother of grief , bring healing to the hurt ,

peace to the anger and restore the emptiness within .
