I remember trying to forget

those who are in debt to me and how much I shared .

I remember trying to forget

the scandal and all the awful lies that I heard  .

I remember trying to forget

the control freaks and the abusive  things they say .

I remember trying to forget

the friends who turned their back on me and walked away  .

I remember trying to forget

the ignorance of criticism wrongly dealt .

I remember trying to forget

what went wrong yesterday and the hurt that I felt .

I remember trying to forget

the times I was wrong and the angry thoughts I hid  .

I remember trying to forget

what I should have remembered but I never did  .
