Remembering Halloween
By Paul McCann
I remember Halloween when I
walked unseen round the street .
I remember when I dressed up
like a ghost under a sheet .
I remember wearing false faces
to give people a fright .
I remember telling tales
of things that went bump in the night .
I remember toffee apples ,
fairy floss and apple cakes .
I remember sherbet fountains ,
red lips and peanuts on plates .
I remember Halloween songs
and the goose was getting fat .
I remember the man
who had a penny in his old hat .
.
