She Dreamt Of Change

 The girl at the counter stood there all day watching all the people who came her way  .

She cooked them  food to earn  her pay then she went home alone at the end of the day .

She had her dinner and she went to bed and lay there thinking of the years ahead  .

She wished and prayed that things would change then she closed her eyes and she drifted off to sleep

She dreamt of some children of her own and a family home where she stayed all day .

She opened her eyes and realised the dream was gone and went off to earn her pay .
