Too Young To Die

The kids are gone and I’m getting on ,

I pay someone just to cut the lawn

Most of my friends they’ve all died ‘and passed to the other side.

Life and love are just like that .

You give it all and all for what .

An asset test and a pension card

No benefits for working hard ,

I’ll try to keep positive as long as I have life to live .

I’ll be singing to myself

Happiness is my good health .

The cost of living is way too high

Too old to work

too young to die .

Just last week I had a fall

And on my knees I had to crawl ,

I couldn’t find my walking stick

And worried until I was sick .

I couldn’t tell you how I felt

On the ground calling for help .

The cost of dying or so I’m told

Is what you get for growing old .

I’ve still got my kite to fly,

And I’m much too young ,

Too young to die .
