There you are
(only) forty inches from me
a spot of light slides through
the cleanest hair in
the history of shampoo.
Your dress is woven
from the season
scarlet blooms mouth sunshine
to the congregation.
I notice your shoes are a
quarter size too big
I see you trying on mum’s
Chanel, rouge, big hats.
So now you speak
with Brizzle on your breath
and despite my usual strained
relationship with others' words
I smile within your syllables
tap your rhythm on my knee.

Well... I wasn't there, but
Well... I wasn't there, but my guess is Jennifer.
Whoever it was, this is very nice: last stanza is ... I don't know - lovely, that'll do.

Ewan

I'm not sure what Brizzle is
I'm not sure what Brizzle is but this is lovely all the same. I really wished I could attend the night and because of this, even more so.

You have made me blush!
You have made me blush!
'Brizzle' is another spelling of 'Brissol' = Bristolian - from Bristol.
I am catching the accent from my students...my posher Bathonian tones are lost... haha!
Thank you so much for the wondeful poetic tribute, I am trying not to let it go to my head!
