Bus Pass [but mostly BPL] Get into a Fix

Bus Pass noticed that BPL was not quite herself ever since their last top decker on the X bus.  Usually fabulous and scintillating company, BPL had become crest-fallen, guilt-ridden, morose.  Even the good news that the swine greedy power company had allocated £150 winter credit to her account, hadn’t cheered BPL up for long.

Bus Pass wondered, how to fix BPL?

Recently, BPL hadn’t wanted to take a top decker because of some bloke called Bert.  Bus Pass had never met him, but he sounded like a real blow-hard.  So, Bus Pass put on their best Patsy voice, and coaxed BPL to ‘Go for it, Eddie’.  BPL reluctantly put on her coat and fleecy belt-bag (worn cross-body, Edina BPL was no slouch when it came to fashion), but even the triumph of catching the 9.50 bus before it whizzed past the bus stop at 9.40 didn’t get BPL smiling.

Leaving the house, Bus Pass noticed BPL picking up the bag, from salty old Seasalt, which had been hanging on the hall door since they day they met the Hebridean Baker.  (Whom BPL thought was haunting her, as was in December’s Country Living magazine.  Bus Pass explained HB was alive and whisking, this was just his wizardly ways). 

Bus Pass peeped into the bag and saw the sweater and cardigan BPL had purchased that fateful day.  Returning the guilt-bag, BPL had paid the difference on a ridiculous sweater, then impulse-bought an overpriced cardigan that couldn’t even be washed in the washing machine.

BPL had disappointed herself.

Easy to fix! 

Once she had returned both items, fully refunded, BPL went to see the Artist Textiles exhibition at the Art Gallery, where a dress textile by Dali cheered her up no end.

“Sweetie, what are you wearing?”

“Dahling, it’s a Dali”.

“It’s fabulous”.
