The life-long constant beat of your heart,
all the organs so busy, every part
of your body in synchrony, symphony
– lungs' regular rhythm – expansion, contraction,
liver and kidneys sorting waste, busy chemistry,
blood circulation, nerves' penetration
to feed information for interconnection
of actions and sensations received, and speech;
skeleton, muscles and glands, and each
controlled by the brain, where we think and assess
– how can it be that it doesn't descend to a disordered mess?
It could not have slowly evolved to such high integration.

What a privilege to own this machine
for a season to serve all the others
inhabiting awhile this earthly scene.!
