Violet glows and smiles
out of the dead, dry leaf carpet –
such a small smile of beauty
lifts my heart to thrill
at nature given
still full feast
delight for the eyes,
exquisite design
and surprise,
despite the trials borne
awhile:
violet helps us be wise.
