We are not infallible!

God almighty never makes
muddles, follies, or mistakes;
We so easily slip still,
promise change we can’t fulfil.
Only progress when relying
on God’s Spirit help supplying;
know our weakness, but delight
in His wisdom, skill and might.
If we seek our comfort more
than to serve our God before –
first and foremost – we will lose:
His good pleasure always choose.
God’s good purpose will succeed,
so now trust and serve, indeed
you will know encouragement
and with certain hope, content.
Tune:77 77
You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it. Haggai 1:6

purse with holes
A pocket with holes there is a pop song like that. Like carrying water in a reed basket! A fool and his money are soon parted.
Once I said to the one secretary Tina that I am a failure she said God doesn't make mistakes, made me feel better. She looked after me that one she knew my afrikaans grandpa had worked for him he was a Legend a BigShot engineer but also had problems.
In spite of dozens of engineering graduates in the family only two in my opinion are are of that calibre. JP (Chappies) is the only true engineer and Barend is an international management bigshot. The others are mostly computer programmers (or pensioned and unemployed).
Living in the love of the common people. Beautiful poetry Rhiannon!

Liesbeth
Thanks Rhiannnon. There was another woman at the university who also looked after me, one of the cleaning ladies Liesbeth. She you might say was my african mother there at Unisa.
I'm digressing, why not?
Keep well have a good week! Tom

emotional support
Yes and like if someone covers for you it might even save your job! Lucky I've been sober 26 years now etc. It would be much better now with employment as well as not smoke breaks all the time and you save money too. Long time.
Emotional and moral support can also be valuable and perhaps just someone who cares. There was a coloured secretary at Wits too who was very good to me I liked her a great deal. Things could have worked out different to me there some truly nasty characters around.
When I was a baby I was also cared for by a domestic worker in daytime when my dad was at work and my mom attending university. Her name was also Elizabeth!
