We must try
to stop the climate warming,
we can cry
to all to change their use
of earth’s resources
that supply
their comforts
and conveniences,
deny
unnecessary luxuries
they buy …

but

don’t forget
the universe is running down
and also there’s a date that’s set
unknown to us
when it will be remodelled –
no tears or evil,
frustration, pain
or crime again
– “no sweat”.

Good points Rhiannon. If the Earth does have feelings, it must be despair today, as just like Australia  even though suffering terribly from bush fires, so our country though been suffering from floods, have voted in a party which puts environment way down the agenda

I think, Di, that all parties are trying to think through what changes environmentally can be done, and some of the issues aren't straightforward, or more complex than we sometimes realise, and can - maybe short-term - affect some ordinary poor people quite badly if rushed into. But there are also, other very important issues at present that affect our moral health as a nation where groups are pushing for changes that they want irrespective of the moral and health consequences on others eg demanding abortion rights that can push women into health problems as well as denying birth to babies, and encouraging impulsive gender changes that are very concerning to much medical opinion, and ignoring other helps and counsel.

So all these issues need to be thought about soberly.

And, I wanted to point out, that whatever we do and encourage of positive environmental benefit, we must not think we will save our planet as it is eternally! And our really primary priority should be peace with the eternal Saviour.

Thanks, PT. Glad you thought so. As for entropy they still want to think molecules could develop into man by chance!! Rhiannon

It's certainly an interesting problem. I doubt all claims to full understanding. Who knows? this whole universe could be the inside of someone's head. A rapidly expanding one, though. Hmmm. Another theory bites the dust. :)

Sorry, not to get into long debate! But the energy input to counter entropy change and do the creative 'impossiblity' also didn't need long ages of gradual change to do it, and the soft tissue being found in fossils now etc are indicating more and more a relatively recent start and a catastrophic occurence (as recorded in Genesis 6-8!) Anyway, we can only know what is true clearly by revelation!

I'm a bit sceptical about all this Rhiannon especially when they start wanting to actually reverse this global warning.

Hi, Tom. It does seem easy to panic and blast at everyone over this issue..

I think Christians would always want to use the earth God has given us as well as we can, and put right misuses where possible, but at the same time, we know that the earth isn't as when God made it and he has promised to remake it at the end of time, and so we prepare our own hearts and lives now for meeting him either when we die, or when he comes!
