Eclipse

I watched people
watch the eclipse.
Cereal cartons
and colanders
and cardboard glasses.
Everyone turned
orange and
a lady told me about
an eclipse in the 50’s
when she was a girl.
She told me about her
school back then,
and how she hadn’t
learnt much there
but had learnt so
much since.
There was a rush
at the bar afterwards.

Rush
This is great. I really enjoyed it. From your words I can imagine the whole scene.
You could use the last stanza to finish any poem I suppose.
