Readers, friends, I'm soul-weary;
my mind's eye has grown so blurry;
this mechanized chaos is more than I can stand;
I'm all but a stranger to myself in this strange but familiar land
I have ethical qualms about this morning beer I'm sipping;
because when I get drinking like a fish, I find myself sinking;
"ask not what your country can do for you, but rather what is your precise dollar value?": So goes the modern American motto,
and ya ought to know that
like Bradley Knowell sung: "your freedom ain't free."
I wouldn't like to take a walk in the shoes of the Chinese child who made these shoes:
From Thailand to Indonesia to Colombia,
from oily sea to oily sea,
the Imperialists are keeping "third world" humans like honey bees.
but let's not be blue
while there's glorious sunshine
and opportunities to be happy, free, and !!WILD!!
