The Princess joins the revolutionary army (1)

“This is Princess Charmaigne,” said Rebel Leader.  “She’s joining us from today.” 

“A Princess?” I said, surprised. I wasn’t used to fighting alongside royalty. 

“There’s no need to call me by my full title,” she said. “Comrade is fine.” 

“In that case, hello comrade,” I said. 

“Princess comrade,” she corrected. 

“Bart is our top ground fighter, he led the assault on Tor Tellip,” Rebel Leader explained. 

“Gosh, how brave. I used to have a holiday villa in Tor Tellip, it’s a terribly dangerous place. My pony got a stone in its foot.” 

“What the plan, Rebel Leader?” I asked.  

He gave me a mournful look. “The Llanmir galaxy, I’m afraid.  We’ve been battling the Dark Lord’s army there for decades and it’s been a total stalemate. A bloody stalemate. We want you to lead an assault on the Dark Lord’s base on Anagon 5, the organisational hub for the whole western arm of the galaxy. It’s dangerous, maybe suicidal, but if we can take the base the galaxy is ours. 

I was about to respond, but the Princess spoke first. 

“The Dark Lord?” she said. 

“Yes, Princess Comrade,” said Rebel Leader. “He controls the Llamir galaxy.” 

“Oh, don’t bother with raids on bases. I’ll phone him.” 

“Phone him! He’s our bitter enemy.” 

“Yes, but he’s also a sort of cousin on my mother’s side.” 

She took out her phone and dialed. 

“Oh, hello Darkykins,” she said. 

“Yes, it’s me (giggles). I’m a rebel Princess now. I know, all greasy street fighters, but it is a hoot. 

“I was phoning about the Llamir galaxy. Only it’s my birthday coming up an dI wondered if you’d give it to me. Oh you will, thank you so much Darkykins.” 

The Princess hung up the phone. 

“There, no need to attack the Dark Lord’s, it’s my galaxy now. We can turn Anagon Five into a party planet. I’ll have my birthday party there, we’ll invite all the rebel fighters. I think I have just the dress for it.” 

“Are you related to any other of our enemies?” asked Rebel Leader.
