I Dream of Dragons

Life can be really hard when you are 16 years old. What with everything going on around you like school, getting a job, learning how to drive, parties, and even more than that. Not to mention everything you go through leading up to that point. But with all of those things going on around me, I have decided it is best to just lay down and slowly drift into a dream about dragons and anything else my imagination can create.
I wake up and look around to see a beutiful world surronding me. There are vibrant flowers everwhere. The grass is a deep green. I can see the great blue ocean from the hill on which i awoke. However, the most mystical part of this lucid dream is the adventure I am about to begin. Right on que, a small child dressed in dirty, tattered clothes runs up to me in a terrified state. He drops down in front of me and starts crying. Which is awfully unusual for my dreams. The child looks up at me, but only long enough to see myself and the babarous dragon looming overhead. My mission was obvious in this dream. I had to slay the dragon! Immediatly I hurry to the village ahead and get geared up and ready to fight the beast. It is thin and very fast. Much like a jet you would see outside of this dreamworld I created. I would be able to kill this dragon with an ordinary sword or axe. I was going to need something with much more range. So I grabbed a long bow and some arrows, a tassle of rope, and my sheild. The plan was to tie the rope to an arrow and then shoot the dragon. With the arrow in the dragons side i would be able to climb right up. Once aboard I would use the ace up my sleve. The first half of the plan worked flawlessly. I jumped right up on its back and began to make my way to the front. As I reached the front i reached in my pocket and pulled out my dragon tamer. A small shard that glowed a radiant ruby color. Thats when i realized this was no ordinary lucid dream. The dragon started at a straight downward spiral. I could feel the force of it on my body in the real world. I could feel my heart struggling to beat. I could feel the regreat i was now having. The shame of taking my own life. This was indeed my last lucid dream.

Hello! Welcome aboard.
Hello! Welcome aboard.
Very vivid writing and the ending took me by surprise - a highly imaginative and moving way of approaching the subject. Because I'm an old pedant I'd say be careful with the proof reading because people can get taken out of the story if they're distracted by spellings etc. Or perhaps that's just old pedants like me
Entirely echo jolono's sentiments - looking forward to seeing more of your work!
