The Music Wouldn’t Play
By Paul McCann
The band came on the stage with the spotlights in their face
the audience began to rage jumping all over the place
the singer stood alone beside the microphone
but the music wouldn’t play , at the concert hall
in doomsday
The music wouldn’t play and the day had come along
when people were turned away and they couldn’t sing a song
In the silent tears, on an empty stage , the beggar couldn’t pay ,
for a war to wage on the want there was when the music wouldn’t play
The band begged for an ear but the audience turned away
The singer had no song and oh will there ever come the day
When the world has all gone deaf in a time when there’s no time left
With no music to be shared and no encore to be heard .
The music wouldn’t play and the day had come along
when people were turned away and they couldn’t sing a song
In the silent tears, on an empty stage , the beggar couldn’t pay ,
for a war to wage on the want there was when the music wouldn’t play
tell me , what ever would we do if that day fell on me and you
what could we say when the music wouldn’t play ,
would it be ok if the music wouldn’t play ,
.

Sad poem and song, for where
Sad poem and song, for where would we be without the blessing of music.

Good, unique idea for a poem
Good, unique idea for a poem/song. Where would we be without music? What an awful day it would be if the music really stopped!
