Clehonger to Ruckhall Circular

I do like 3-dimensional walks, with ups and downs
(though the ups not too long, but
bringing new views throughout the little walk).
We hadn’t gone this walk for quite a long time
and hadn’t walked this far (just three miles) for some while.
The weather was lovely, white cotton-wool clouds around
and blue sky much of the time. The sun so warm though
the day had begun cold.
We started off from Clehonger with views to the hills a little way north
and then on through very squelchy fields
and slidey muddy paths and steps (wood-edged to help)
(this county has had so much rain recently –
fields flooded in places around the Arrow and Wye rivers)
ending up above the full steadily moving Wye at Ruckhall
and then back with view across to the Black Mountains,
with the late afternoon sun above them –
is it wisps of mist or smoke rising in the valley below them?
and Madley large satellite-tracking dishes visible.

Thank you for another
Thank you for another wonderful walk Rhiannon. If you get the chance to take a look, I follow someone on Instagram called Nicholas Keeble and I think he must live near you. He takes the most breathtaking pictures of the countryside including many places you mention in your walks. I don't think it matters if you're not on Instagram - just google 'Nicholas.keeble instagram' and you should see a link

Hi Rhiannon, the countyside
Hi Rhiannon, the countyside opens up so many possibilities for creating wonderful poetry. Your skilful words have taken the reader with you once again on this scenic walk, which I very much enjoyed reading.
Jenny.

After reading yours, I just wanted to book our first trip away in wee caravan; and no rain! We must be getting all that passes over you; anyway, nice one again Rhiannon.

Another evocative ramble with you, Rhiannon. And what a way to finish. Enjoyed, of course :)
