The Gable ArtIst
By Paul McCann
I was walking past a gable wall and something caught my eye .
A young man on a ladder painting heroes of times gone by .
Contemporary artworks for display there upon an old brick wall ,
but no one actually saw or heard , the artists among us all .
The streets have always had people who had an influence
using brush strokes confidently, a masters silent presence .
Seldom are these works ever sold , on brick walls that never fell .
The outstanding talent of street artists are alive and well .
With every chapter of life through decades that have come and gone ,
on concrete canvasses masterpieces still live on and on .
The words of the prophets are written upon the gable wall,
We’re strongest when we’re on our knees “ –
t’was moral for us all .
