Time to Rise and Shine!

They say …
we better function
if we’re woken
by music not BUZZ! BUZZ!
– it isn’t the words of a song
but the pattern of notes that
help calm the alarm
– a refrain with sweet effect
on the waves of the brain:
music in the ears it appears
can help us leave the dreams
with more ease it seems,
and mental activity slides
into gear; soothing and oiling
for the coming toiling:
the whole of our brain and soul
mysteriously programmed
for the
intrinsic
physical
emotional
mental
blessing of music.

I like music being physical
I like music being physical emotional mental blessing :0) Makes a lot of sense that it must be better to be woken by something pleasant than alarming.
It is nearly the time of year for the herring gulls to start their families which lots of people don't like, but I do, not having a busy day ahead, lying in bed trying to guess what they are going on about to the families on neighbouring rooftops

To be woken by pleasant music
To be woken by pleasant music, sounds wonderful. Like you wrote, music can conjure so many emotions that touch the soul.
Loved this poem Rhiannon.

Oh how I hate
Oh how I hate to get up in the morning, oh how I love to stay in bed! The one great thing of being unemployed is that you can sleep as late as you like,
See you Rhiannon! Tom

Buzzz!
Buzzz! Buzzz! Rhiannon I don't like alarm clocks and waking with such a fright. Not good for your mental equilibrium if you ask me. At that time employed I worked at night, and slept in the day. The great advantage when you don't have a job is you can sleep as late as you like. Gets a bit boring though.
All the best! Tom
