Sunday Bike Ride

Sunday on a bike 

as fast as you like 

propelled by the squeeze 

of handlebar grease .

 

Changing gears with feet 

tap dancing the street .

Then it’s time to stop 

at a coffee  shop  .

 

There’s no map to read 

when you need a feed .

You just park the bike 

anywhere you like .

 

A rider at rest 

with a pie and yes

it’s food  for the soul

that’s as good as gold .

This was so cozy.

I love how it doesn’t try too hard to be profound, but still is, in that gentle, easy way. “Food for the soul that’s as good as gold” - yes. Sometimes that’s all we need: a ride, a rest, and something warm in our hands. Thanks for sharing this.
