Word paused
on sullen mouth,
one determined drop
stubbornly gripping on,
 
waits
to fall from leaky tap,
not broken enough
to bother to fix.
 
A glum tear of melancholy
sulking on crusted rim.
It's going to fall...
I can't wipe clean.
 
I wait...
wait for something...
or someone.
Desire to Shout?
 
Overwhelming urge
to call out 
absurd,
yearning delusion
 
wells up behind the drip.
Drip drop, then what?
Looks of pity
mad woman,
 
yelling for mother
in the middle of a shop 
instead
walk out
 
head drooped,
drop falls from broken lip.
Unheard, the word...
"Mum?"

Yes I'm sorry - can't seem to write about anything else. Every time I'm givens new theme, my writing twists itself round again. Every word and thought bending like a flower towards the sun.

The short sharp works really well, and I imagine it sounds very effective too.

When you miss someone and it's all you can write, is something I think many of us can identify with.

Thanks insert. It does feel good to read out loud. The words feel like they skip well from one to another. I was pleased with it. The name calling out thing has been on my mind awhile, like maybe she is just round the corner.

This is just beautiful.  It's as if your Mother is still expressing herself through you.  I have called out in the night for my Derek but he has gone ahead so I must try to make a life for myself until I am with him again.  The pain never goes but like the pain of arthritis, one learns to live with it. Keep writing your Mum would be so proud.
