What Will The World (or America!) Be like In Another 4 Years? by Alfred N.Muggins

The fourth anniversary of the major Russian (Putin-led) invasion of Ukraine was celebrated by Trumpenstein's major attack on Iran, in conjunction with, and at the behest of of his other major foreign boss (client?), the architect of and instigator of 7th October 2023, Benjamin Netanyahoo, the chessplayer and lever puller of middle eastern conflicts. Finally that great ape, chest beating Benji had managed to impress upon an American President the need and desirability of taking out that remaining major opponent of Israel in the middle east - namely Iran, Islamic Revolutionary controlled Iran, as it turned out, that great hoarder of missiles and drones of all shapes and sizes, turned out to be stronger, in that sense, than the Americans and Israel together.
The February 28th 2026 preemptive attack on Iran was a major attack, just as the 24th February 2022 full scale invasion of Ukraine had been almost exactly 4 years before. In both of them there was an expectation initially, in the media particularly, that the attackers, with relative surprise and strength on their side might defeat the defending nations, but in both cases the defenders were able to gain advantage and make the attackers pay dearly, sooner or later.
The connections between the two attacks were becoming all the more obvious - Dictator led Oligarchies gaining power in powerful, well armed nations, and using them, against the advice of more sensible counsels to attempt regime change and regime control. Both failed miserably, leading to longer wars than expected. Maybe Iran will get its peace soon (not so sure about Lebanon? (or Palestine!), but Ukraine is still having to fight hard to stay alive!
Alfred wondered what the world would be like in another 4 years? And where would the next invasion or attack would take place? Perhaps the next attack would be an Authoritarian America finally invading Canada, or just Greenland, instigating a (rest of ) NATO call to arms. Unlike the War of 1812 the Americans might just manage to knock out Canada, but there would be no independent Indian tribes to fight for the British (Canada) this time!?
Would the European nations actually come to help, or would the American attacks be too quick and effective. Perhaps by then even Alfred's beloved Britain might be ruled by the sneaky Trumplike billionaire funded (controlled) Party Reform?
By then Cuba might possibly have fallen to invasion by the Corporate Bully America?
It was interesting that soon, within the next month June 2026, America would be hosting the Football (FIFA) World Cup, alongside Mexico and Canada (erstwhile partners and friends, but hardly right now, with loose tongued Threat Man Trumpenstein in power!)!
But surely there was a good chance (he hoped!) that almost 80 year old Trump might be dead by then (by 2030? - he would be 84!), or that America might have held those midterm November 2026 elections, free and fairly enough to result in actual believers in the Constitution and real democracy gaining the upper hand in Congress and Senate? But would there be a handover of power?
Perhaps the wannabe Authoritarian Trump would actually go full scale Authoritarian and refuse to accept the election result, or maybe the election result would be so rigged that Musk would manage to deliver his 'magic' once again, as he had done in 2024?
Perhaps there would be a thousand years of Authoritarian rule, against the wishes of the actual voters. Trump might well be forced to step down due to old age or dementia. The corporate or Christian Nationalist interests might pick the next candidate, behind closed doors and the 'Tantrum Emperor' would be conveniently deposed, to be replaced by someone a bit steadier at the helm of the Great Ship America? (But who? pipsqueek Vance or Deportation Miller, Epic Failure Hegsbreath or Marco 'immigrant sell anything' (including your soul!) Rubicon?)
After Stalin died the apparatchik but kinder Khrushchev had taken over, so it took a while for the 'thaw' to take place. Eventually, around 1964/5 a coup by hardliners stopped the gradual 'thaw' that might be going to happen under Khrushchev. (Alfred had read the second part of Khrushchev's memoirs many years ago, ands he had to admit that he quite liked the guy, through his writing, even though he had threatened the USA with nuclear capabilities placed into Cuba, around the time of Alfred's own birth, and had presided over the Russian takeover of independent minded Hungary in 1956. As usual he digressed, perhaps unnecessarily.)
Perhaps if he had read Khruschev's Part 1 Memoirs (about his time and service under Stalin in the 1920's, 1930's, and 1940's) he might not have liked him so much, as he was one of that Monster's main henchmen!
Of course Alfred hoped, and there were many signs of hope, that full democracy, and constitutional etc. law, and of course its people, maybe even its armed forces, would fight back to maintain America's institutions and heritage, and would, even while Trumpenstein remained on his Presidential throne, wrest power and influence back from him and his cronies, restoring the sacred checks and balances which were so necessary to a functioning democracy.

"..the sacred checks and balances which were so necessary to a functioning democracy." Yes to this. Hard to imagine what the situation will be in 4 years time. I can't see Trumpenstein still being in power. I think he's been told he can't run for a third term.
Another insightful analysis from Alfred N Muggins. His revoving reporting and thoughtful commentary invariably makes sense.

Ice, baby, Ice
'US military turning on its own citizens to maintain control' - I'm afraid that's already happened with ICE (ok, not actually the military, but an armed government department authorised to use violence). The huge upswell of public indignation at the killing of two US citizens, and the policy change it forced, give me a little hope that decency may prevail.
