Man in a Pink Shirt

Man in a pink shirt
Don’t step out into the road
Fat man in a pink polo shirt
Ruddy cheeked, strawberry blond
In Henley..Henley on Thames
One tan leather loafer on pavement
And one in the gutter. Fat man
Not by today’s standards
I’m being a bit unfair
Well upholstered, sausagey
And he looks posh, angry too
I imagine his voice, shouty
Entitled but a bit thin-skinned
I drive by, check my mirror
See his navy chinos and
Tanned calves, gone to grass
Crossing over, probably
Leaving a scent trail
Tom Ford, Hugo Boss
He’s got a blond wife
Thin but fertile
Feisty but yielding
He’s drives a purring vehicle
And does manly sports
Tall confident children
Labradors and Pimms
Fun times and freckles
I head towards Reading
The sky darkens
