Take your Ruskin softened
in a schooner of armagnac
at bloodheat.

Delayed shock tremors the hand,
distorts the eye, sees frailty,

discards earthentones for terse monochrome.

They are to be sloughed as imperfection,
ochreous pigments, a sin of slipware
and Van Gogh; terra-skin of seer's basins,

canvases of whim.

Cling to your vision, discard human prism,
you, who could not endure a splendour,

willow bent as living bower.
Autumn's kiss through Gothic arch.

Inspired seasonal poetry! Wonderful opening stanza...superb images...I could taste autumn! Particularly enjoyed: "They are to be sloughed as imperfection, brown and yellow pigments, a sin of slipware and Van Gogh; terra-skin of seer's basins, canvases of whim." Congrats on PoW.

http://www.selbyslist.com/ This is a great list of Experimental Literary Magazines in the US/UK/ETC.. From personal experience, this poem rings: Counterexample Poetics, The Delinquent (UK), ditch poetry (CAN).. But there are plenty to choose from. All editors have their own taste. This is a fine poem, nonetheless.. Cheers.

Trying not to tweak this, but so tempted to re-insert *ochreous* for 'yellow and brown' must... resist... ..o stuff it :-)
