Valentines

Today is Valentines Day,
and the shops are filled
with hearts and flowers,
all kinds of hearts,
no end of flowers.
Chocolate hearts,
pizza hearts,
and little tiny paper hearts
to scatter and spread.
And plastic flowers,
Lego flowers,
paper fabric flowers that will never die
all for a price...
the price of love?
Can love be held in your hand?
Will it melt in your mouth?
Can love be bought and sold?
Is love that easy?
Love is not that simple.
Love is not confined
to one day in the year.
Love is not contained
in a box of chocolates,
a bunch of roses,
a diamond ring.
Love is not that easy.
Love is so much more than that.
Love is elusive, fleeting
but enduring, everlasting.
Love is the moment and the memory,
love is now and forever,
love is more than words,
more than words can say.
Love is not easy.
But,
when you feel it,
when you really feel it,
you know,
you dont find love on the supermarket shelves....
