A Silent Rose
By Paul McCann
I had to stop and take a look
and in that moment that I took
a silent rose before my eyes
peacefully left me mesmerised,
as a whisper in my soul said
it’s too late whenever your dead
to appreciate life like this .
It’s so subtle the things we miss ,
because we’re busy and don’t see
how intricate is the beauty
of the rose , then you think ,
so delicately folded in pink ,
with a touch of white to contrast
the overall picture that’s there .
God is a beautiful artist
who has created life like this .
In front of me , a silent rose ,
in the garden beautifully grows .

If my mum was alive she'd
If my mum was alive she'd leave a comment on this poem, as the rose was her favourite flower. She had so many different species in her garden and always grew the roses that had a beautiful fragrance which is so rare today.
I enjoyed your poem too Paul and you're right, we do miss so much of the beauty of nature if not paying attention.
Jenny.
